Lucia Lodge offers 10 unique cabin units located on a cliff 300 feet
above the ocean. The view is an unparalleled panorama of the Big Sur
coastline and a natural bay, defined by Lopez Point to the North and
Cape San Martin to the South.
The cabin accommodations are rustic in nature and offer neither telephones
nor television. Rather, guests are treated to a romantic setting amid
ever-changing seascapes and views of majestic mountains. From the
cabins' location it is common to see passing whales, sea otters playing
in giant kelp beds, and soaring eagles. The ever-present sound of
breaking waves is both fascinating and relaxing.
A sitting area at the edge of the cliff offers all guests a magnificent
view of the coast and a stunning view down to the ocean. A picnic
area is located just below the cabins at the edge of the cliff.
Three styles of cabins are available:
|

|
 |
The
four freestanding cabins (numbers 7 to 10) are located near
the edge of the cliff. These are the original accommodation
built in the 1930's. The cabin closest to the edge of the cliff
(cabin 10) is called the honeymoon cottage. Each of these cabins
have gas fireplaces and four-poster queen-size bed. Bathrooms are small
in the tradition of the 1930's and have stand-up showers. These
cabins offer the most spectacular views of the ocean, as well
as a historic feel.
|
 |
The
four in-line cabins (numbers 1 to 4) located closer to the mountains
are slightly more modern. Each of these rooms has a pillow-top
queen-size bed with down comforter. Bathrooms are slightly larger
and more modern, but offer the same stand-up shower. These rooms
also have a coastal view, but are set back from the cliff.
|
 |
Between
these cabin are the two most modern rooms (numbers 5 and 6).
These rooms are larger and also have a pillow-top queen-size
bed with down comforter. The spacious bathrooms have a rustic
feeling but are modern and offer shower over baths. These rooms
do not face the ocean, but do have a spectacular view of the
Santa Lucia Mountains.
